The Social Security Administration (SSA) has recently implemented several initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability in its operations.
One significant development is the launch of the SecurityStat website, an online performance tracker that allows the public to monitor the agency's progress in customer service. Introduced in February 2024 by Commissioner Martin O’Malley, SecurityStat facilitates bi-weekly meetings among top executives and subject matter experts to analyze data, identify issues, and implement necessary reforms. This initiative has led to notable improvements, such as reducing the average wait time for calls to the National 800 Number from 40.8 minutes to 24.5 minutes. Read more...
