 Melissa Viviane Jefferson, known professionally as Lizzo, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, and flutist celebrated for her empowering messages of self-love and body positivity. Born on April 27, 1988, in Detroit, Michigan, she moved with her family to Houston, Texas, at the age of ten, where she began her musical journey.
