The retail sector is experiencing significant upheaval, with numerous store closures announced across various chains in 2025.Kohl's, for instance, is closing 27 stores across 15 states following its bankruptcy filing in January. This decision accompanies a 7.2% drop in sales revenue in the last quarter of 2024 and a 65.6% decrease in profits from the previous year. Additionally, Kohl's will end its in-store Amazon return program at several locations and reduce its workforce by 10% across the affected stores.
